After his frightening shark encounter on the weekend, Australian surfing champion Mick Fanning has been at the centre of both a traditional and social media frenzy!
At his first press conference after fighting off the shark, social media was ignited with a wave of comments about Red Bull’s questionable product placement.
While Fanning and fellow Aussie surfer Julian Wilson told their story, the energy drink’s presence seemed to leave a bad taste in some people’s mouths.
The drink’s logo was noticeable on two surfboards behind Mick and Julian during the interview as well as on Julian’s hat. They both also had cans in their hands throughout the conference.
Is this a case of product placement gone to far?
